Can I accept real-time credit card payments with my auction? Top

Yes. However, you must have (or obtain) a CyberSource compatible merchant account. An AuctionAnything.com representative can assist in determining your needs.

In addition, credit card payments are currently processed using our invoicing system. In order to use the invoicing system, you must pre-determine your shipping (insurance, handling etc.) fees based on your customers order total.

For example, if a customer purchases two items (one at $150 and one at $50), you must be able to provide a total due (say you charge 5% for S&H, or $10, for a total of $210) in order for them to "check out" by credit card.

Can I integrate your auction system into my existing site? Top

Yes! This is one of our specialties. Our modular auction systems can be integrated into almost any site while maintaining that site's existing aesthetics and design.

Do I need my own domain name to run an auction? Top
Although we recommend using your own domain name to maintain your branding, it is not required. You can also run your auction site using a sub-domain of AuctionAnything.com (e.g. MySiteName.AuctionAnything.com).
Do you have a functional demonstration site that I can review? Top

Absolutely, you may register for our auction demonstration system here. In addition, we recommend that you view our sample site here.

Do you provide auction solutions for one time events? Top
Yes, we provide auction solutions for one time and event based auctions. A perfect example includes non-profit events that occur only once or twice a year. Please contact us so we may assess your specific online auction application and provide you with the best solution.
Do you sell auction software? Top
No, we do not sell software. All of our auction systems are completely hosted and maintained on our servers. You administer your entire auction system using a web browser and Internet connection. We are known as an ASP (Application Service Provider), with auctions being our specialty.

Please contact a representative to learn how a fully hosted solution may benefit your organization over purchasing and hosting your own software solution.

Does my auction system come with image hosting services? Top

Yes, image hosting is integrated into our system. You may easily upload multiple images or documents from your desktop. In addition, you may delete items at any time using our File Manager system.

How long will it take for you to get my auction site up and running? Top

Our standard Auction system is specifically designed for rapid delivery and can often be set-up within several days.

If your solution requires our online credit card processing module, please allow 2 to 3 weeks.

How much work will it take to manage my site? Will I have to hire someone? Top

The answer to this question depends upon which product your are using.

If you are operating a Merchant Auction, the variables to consider include your business size, type and Internet business goals. Since there is no software to install and you only need a basic Internet connection (56k or greater recommended), it will not take you long to understand how to use the system. The time requirement will be mostly dependent on the number of items you wish to sell. The normal process is as follows:

  1. Procure inventory.
  2. Photograph and enter inventory into the system
  3. Monitor the bidding process.
  4. Collect transaction payments.
  5. Fulfill the order.
I have selected a domain name and only need an auction site, can you handle my DNS? Top
Yes, you don't need an existing website in order to run your own branded auction site. We can provide DNS for your new auction site.
If I use your auction system, do I own the software? Top
No. All auction software is the sole property of AuctionAnything.com, Inc.. The auction system is hosted on our servers and "leased" to you when you excercise our Operating Agreement.

By using an AuctionAnything.com fully hosted solution you get the benefit of years of auction development and experience at an affordable price point. In addition, you can concentrate on your business while allowing us to focus on providing you with fully hosted auction services.

I'm just a small businessperson. Will your auction site work for me? Top

Our auction solution is designed to work for any size business; from the one person shops to Fortune 500 companies.

Is the system easy to use? I'm not very proficient with HTML. Top
Yes, our auction solutions are designed to allow you to concentrate on making or raising money, not programming or worrying about the technical aspects of hosting an online auction.
Is your software available in multilingual versions? Top
No. At this time we do not offer a multilingual version. However, we do offer the ability to use several currency versions such as British pounds.
Who can benefit from an auction system? Top
Auction functionality can be an asset to almost any business. Online auctions provide an exciting and dynamic way to move all types of inventory, including b-stock, scratch & dent, outdated, one-of-a kind, demo and excess items. They are also great for selling collectibles such as antiques, art, coins, stamps sports memorabilia and many other desirables in niche markets.

In addition, our auction systems have been used by non-profit organizations and major newspapers for charity functions and cross-promotional events.

Who do I contact for more information? Top
Please see our Contact Us section.
Why "lease" your auction system when I can buy the software myself? Top
There are several reasons to use our systems instead of buying software.
  1. Overhead - Running your own auction system can get expensive and may require a significant investment in both hardware and software, not to mentioned the up-keep required to maintain a secure system. Unless you have the resources and personnel, this may not even be an option. Why not concentrate on your business and let us do all the "dirty work".
  2. Flexibility - Our modular auction systems can be integrated into a variety of business scenarios and offer more flexibility than off-the-shelf software. Need a specific type of bidding logic? No problem, we can develop it to your specifications.
  3. Updates - Our systems are constantly being enhanced with new features and functions. Everything takes place behind the scenes and does not require new software version installations via CD or download. You don't have to do a thing!
Why don't you have more pricing information posted on the website? Top
Based on experience, we have found that it is in your best interest if we provide you with a quotation after we understand your project requirements. Since our systems may be configured in many ways, the options you select contribute to the final pricing (e.g. is online c/c processing required?). In addition, larger clients may have special requirements such as the need for dedicated servers and bandwidth.

We can often provide "baseline" pricing after a short phone conversation. Part of the value we offer is a personalized information exchange and project needs analysis and assessment. Even if you don't choose us as your auction provider, we want you to be well informed.
